Determined to build a business that represented my values and a life where I had control over my time, entrepreneurship was always my goal. Each step toward achieving that has taught me invaluable lessons, making me the motivated, hardworking and empathetic person I am today.
Becoming an entrepreneur has been my goal for as long as I can remember. Building a business from the ground up and having something uniquely mine felt like a rewarding challenge. At Florida State University, I was one of just 40 students a semester who was accepted into the entrepreneurship program. That marked the start of my journey, setting me on the right path to success.
Out of college, I worked as a project manager for a commercial insulation company. I learned a lot in that role, but I always knew starting my own business was the next step. My wife, Rebecca, and I both have a passion for fitness. I saw the gym as a great place to build a community and create connections to support one another with a shared goal of self-improvement. With this vision in mind, we decided to open our own gym.
The path to starting this business was full of challenges, from securing funding to navigating the complexities of business operations. Yet, fueled by our shared passion and unwavering determination, we persevered. We poured our hearts and souls into every aspect of the business, from designing the space to curating a diverse range of fitness programs tailored to our community's needs.
As the doors of our gym finally swung open, we were met with an overwhelming sense of pride and excitement. Our gym quickly became more than just a place to work out—it symbolized all the hard work it took to get here. It was the most rewarding moment to finally become a business owner.
Over 6 years, we ran the gym, spending early mornings and late nights leading classes, maintaining the gym and handling the administrative side of things. It was a lot to take on. As fulfilling as our journey in the fitness industry was, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more out there for me—more opportunities to grow, learn and make a difference. I began looking for new opportunities. Real estate emerged as a great way to build a business, make a significant impact and have more flexibility for my family.
As a gym owner, I did everything: I was the trainer, salesman, janitor—you name it, I learned how to do it. After selling our business, I applied the skills, knowledge and experiences gained to dive headfirst into the world of real estate with a newfound sense of purpose and determination. From the outset, I approached my new venture with the same passion and commitment that had propelled me through running the gym, navigating the highs and lows with a solution-oriented mindset.
My approach to real estate is centered on empathy, patience and genuine connection. One of the most valuable lessons I learned from running our gym was the importance of building genuine, meaningful relationships. When you start a business with a mission to serve, people will recognize and support that.
With hard work and the right client-centered approach, I’m grateful for my clients who not only trust me to help them but also recommend me to friends and family, knowing that every person I work with receives the same high-quality experience.
As my wife and I start a new chapter of our life, awaiting the arrival of our first child, I am grateful I stuck to my goals, charting my own course. My real estate business gives me a sense of fulfillment and purpose in helping people, infinite opportunities for growth, and the flexibility to create a work-life balance as we start our family.
Outside of work, I am very active, going to the gym, playing soccer, enjoying our two dogs, Nala and Winter, and spending quality time with friends and family!Top of Form
My entire life growing up revolved around sports. Hockey, soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, golf—you name it, I tried it! Establishing a work ethic, the ability to practice a skill over and over again to become better and the competitive mindset to always improve have all contributed to my success in real estate. These are qualities that ensure I am not complacent, always learning and doing better for myself and my clients.
